If possible, try to kill them off in the middle of the story, so we had time to like them and we will have time to let the loss settle in.Ĩ. Maybe it’s just me, but I find that long descriptions of funerals kill the sadness.ħ. Don’t describe their funeral in detail.Kill them in the middle of their character arc.Their ultimate loss is sadder if they struggle. Make them fight against whatever is causing their death.Give them strong relationships with other characters. The more enthusiastic they are about completing the goal, the sadder. Leave one of their major goals unfinished.

Many people don’t even think of this as sad (note that this can still work if you have enough of the other factors). Don’t have them die of old age after a long, fulfilling life.On that layer which is now on the “screen” blend mode fill it with any color you like using the paint bucket tool.Īnd there you go! I hope this was helpful :’>ĪUUGHHH I’VE BEEN WONDERING ABOUT THIS DOTS BULL FOREVER OMG FINALLY A TUTORIAL AAAHH.It should now look something like this! If you want the dots to have a different color then make a new layer above the dots and set the layer mode to “screen”.Welp there’s your window! Now change all the variables to 45.Now go to Filter»Pixelate✼olor halftone and click it.Then use it on the layer below your image. Make sure your foreground and background color is set to the default black and white. First you make a new layer below your image. So someone asked me how I do those dotted gradient background like the image below so here goes~ And don’t worry, I don’t mind people asking me how I do stuff haha. Just gonna post this here so everyone can see just in case they’re interested also.
